Late 1998 I was invited to be of the core group of staff setting up and preparing to open a brand new school in Palmerston - Bakewell primary School.
The school opened with only 160 students but within 2 years had grown to have over 600 students enrolled and became the biggest primary school in the NT.
I taught in Upper Primary at the school and also had leadership of the ICT at the school. This experience was amazing and I had not realised how much went into making decisions and setting up a brand new school!
In 2000 I co-ordinated a student trip to the Paralympics in Sydney and also to Canberra - an amazing 2 weeks with a great bunch of students and 2 other staff who have become long time friends.
